Rock of Love: rock of Love Winner Says Shes Still the Same Person

On: December 3rd, 2008 at December 3, 2008 | In: nddk.com

The first season of the VH1 competitive reality television series Rock of Love has ended, and the featured musical star of the dating show finally made his decision between the so-called rose and the thorn. Bret Michaels, lead vocalist of the glam metal band Poison, chose Jessica Jes Rickleff over her closest competitor, Heather Chadwell. While Chadwell was portrayed to have stormed off and cursed Michaels name during her exit, Rickleff claims that ending up on top as the winner of the competition has not really changed who she is at her core, and that shes still essentially the same person as when she started out all those episodes ago.

Taking place over the course of more than 10 weeks and showcasing a variety of different women contending with each other, Rock of Love followed their efforts to win the affection of Michaels throughout a series of challenges and contests. In a subsequent interview with VH1 following the conclusion of the season, Rickleff told about how she still had many different strangers approach her and think that they knew who she really was as a person. She was even called a snot at one point by an obnoxious individual, simply because she wanted to finish eating in peace first before dealing with him.

Rickleff has called the encounter and the others like it weird, though shes learned to deal with them. And in continuing to recall her experience on the show, she says she made it a point to be more conservative and modest compared to many of the other females she was going up against. She didnt see herself as a sex symbol or siren who had to lure Michaels in or make the other women jealous, and she claims that she stood steadfast by her moral beliefs from the very first day onwards.
