As Alanis Morrisette puts it, life has a funny way of sneaking up on you, and apparently, such is the case for Meredith Grey of Greys Anatomy. In the last season of the highly-watched series, we saw Meredith go through a lot such as her near death experience of drowning, her encounter with her fathers family, her mothers death and her sort-of break up with Derek. On her first few days in her second year in Seattle Grace, a new intern suddenly approaches Meredith and says, Im your sister. Wa-lah! Where did that come from? No one knows at the moment but were sure Meredith is doing everything to avoid the woman named Lexie Grey. Finally, she confronts Lexie and says, Youre not someone I want to know.

Basically, Lexie Grey comes off with a bad impression as she flirted with McDreamy in the same bar that Meredith met him in. However, she turned over a new leaf as she befriended George and agreed to keep secret the fact that hes repeating his year as an intern.

Now lets take a closer look at the woman who plays Dr. Lexie Grey.

Chyler Leigh started acting at the age of 12, appearing in various national commercials. Some may even remember her having a short stint in 7th Heaven, where she played a young mother. Leigh also appeared on the short-lived sitcom, That 80s Show as a series regular. However, her most memorable portrayal came in the film Not Another Teen Movie, where she played Janey Biggs. At 25 years old, the actress is a mother of two and was once been listed as one of Stuff magazines sexiest women.

What will be of the fate of the newbie in Greys Anatomy will be determined as the season unfolds. Leigh has just walked into an established show with a firm fan base, and mixed reactions will ensue from various camps. Fans and viewers alike will have to see what will happen next, and what the season has in store for the newbie, whether shell get close to George, or to her half-sister, Meredith.
